King's Quest III VGA: To Heir is Human DemoComposer(s): Brandon Blume and Margaret Lowe| The Following is a quote from the former webmaster and musician of SMC, Brandon Blume (MusicallyInspired). | | Once upon a forum topic in the AGDInteractive Message Board, a poster who called himself "Navynuke04" announced he was making a King's Quest III remake with all the old EGA graphics in AGS with the only difference being a point-and-click interface instead of the old AGI parser interface. He gave out a few demos until MuzlakOofMay offered to do some 256-color graphics for his "remake." He made several VGA-ified conversions of the original EGA backgrounds (VGA-ified screenshot). | | It was around this time I found the topic and got interested in navynuke04's project. I offered to do the music for him if he would have me. He accepted. | | After a few weeks of work we decided to create even higher quality graphics since the project was going well and being accepted by all. We released a demo of the project. It consisted of the introduction sequence only and was unplayable. | | AGDI (The amazing team that brought the great King's Quest II VGA Remake/Fangame to us) approached Navynuke04 and asked if he would be willing to convert his project over to their official King's Quest III remake (complete with screenplay written by KQ2+ writer Daniel Stacey), since King's Quest III was the most-voted game to be remade by AGDI. But they did not have any time to put into creating it, since they currently had their hands full with their Quest For Glory II remake. AGDI would recruit a separate team and Navynuke04 would be the project leader and work on AGDI's King's Quest III remake while the original team would continue work on Quest For Glory II and other projects. AGDI is still currently sending out applications asking for talented musicians and artists to help out in their future projects. | | Because of this change of events, the original three of us (Navynuke04, MuzlakOofMay, and myself) decided it would be best to postpone our project until AGDI's decision was confirmed. We ended up releasing the previously-mentioned demo only and canceled work on the project. MuzlackOofMay went on to continue work on his games at The Spongefactory, and I went back to work more actively again here at Sierra Music Central. | |
